The fortress of Mount Acuto, also known as “Roccaccia“, stands on the top of Mount Acuto, to mark the border between the territory of Treia, Cingoli and San Severino Marche.
Even today the remains are visible, but we know very little of its origins, most likely it was the castle built at the same time of wars between the Byzantines and the Lombards, which maintained, even in the centuries to follow, the function of bulwark.
