Shortly after the junction for Sasso Pozzo and leaving the Path of the Elce behind, you climb along the South side of Mount Lavacelli, crossing for the most part the holm tree wood and some fossil deposits. You will rejoin with the path of the carbonai in the Elce valley.
The trail owes its name to the fact that it is not uncommon to spot roe deers along the way, especially near the springs.
