Urban residential typology of medieval origin. To each of the doors is associated a particular meaning: the one on the right was called “of the spouses”, the one in the center “of the dead”, while the left opening was used daily.
Local historiography has been attracted, in particular, by the “door of the dead“; Pedica lets us know that this passage was closed by a wall, torn down only at the time of taking the body out of the house to be immediately rebuilt. The tradition was definitively interrupted in the 16th century when it was decided to watch over the deceased at the Chapel of the Innocents.
