The Library is named after the writer Maria Teresa Di Lascia: born in Fiuminata, she is known for winning the Strega Prize in 1995 with the novel “Passage in the shade” and for founding “Hands Off Cain”, the international organization that fights against death penalty in the world.
The library, housed in Palazzo Lori, has numerous monographs covering different topics: science, art, Italian and foreign literature, history, geography, religion, philosophy, social sciences; there are also sections dedicated to periodicals, the Marche region, fiction and readings for children and teenagers.
In 2008 a fund was set up, donated by the neurophysiologist Mauro Mancia and named after him, which contains highly specialized works in psychiatry, neurophysiology, psychoanalysis, psychology; the donation enriches a large collection of literature, philosophy, sociology and anthropology.
Finally, there is a section with all the novels participating in the “Maria Teresa Di Lascia” Literary Prize, which takes place every other year in Fiuminata and Rocchetta Sant’Antonio (FG): dedicated to female fiction.
