Its name comes from the Sylvestrine monk Giovanni Ludovico Ascari, who made a donation of about 3000 books in order to create the library.
The library boasts a rich asset of books and documents, and it is located in an extremely elegant building of the 18th century, formerly the Episcopal seminary of Cingoli. Inside the building there is a suggestive, open green area that was restored not long ago.
