The event aims to retrace the historical traditions of Cingoli during the Romantic period.
It is a reinterpretation of the lifestyles of the people and the noble elite of the time.
The focal point is the game of the ball and the bracelet, a real challenge between three representatives of the three districts (called “terzieri”) of the city (Santa Maria, San Nicolò and San Giovanni Battista).
The culmination of the re-enactment is the Midsummer Gala, a great ball in historical costumes, a staple of the 19th-century social life.
This year, the organizers of Cingoli 1848 will present the event in itinerant form, named “USI e Costumi dell’800” , which will take place on July 18 from 16.00 to 21.00 in the streets and in the squares of the historic center.
Stands will be set up with crafts related to the 19th-century, accompanied by moments of historical dances.
From 17.30 to 19.00, the garden of the municipal library will host the presentation of the 2nd book by Manilo Baleani, “Giuditta da Morrovalle”, abut the customs and traditions of the 19th-century. The book is curated in collaboration with Labiena Academy. The event will be accompanied with short musical performances by Cingoli’s folk group.
For a snack, a refreshment point will be set up in Piazzale Risorgimento with the support of the Sant’ Esuperanzio committee, in compliance with anti-covid regulations.
