Between Rome and Loreto:
A suggestive medieval path

In the Late-Middle Ages and to the end of the 16th century, myriads of pilgrims directed to the Sanctuary of Loreto walked along this road, attracted by the precious relic of the Holy House and by the beauty of a territory rich in historical, artistic and monumental testimonies, immersed in the intense green of the woods and uncontaminated landscapes.

This is a particularly suggestive stretch of the “straight road” between Rome and Loreto, defined by sources as “the shortest and easiest”. Included in the international network of medieval pilgrimages, the route allows you to get to know places of considerable religious importance such as the convent of Renacavata, cradle of the Capuchin Order, but also the Hermitage of Sant’Eustachio and the religious area of Valcerasa.

Passing through small villages and important cities of art such as Camerino and San Severino, it crosses perfectly preserved ancient paths and quickly joins the Potenza Valley, Recanati and finally Loreto.
